What It's Like

Cotes-des-Neiges is a multicultural, mostly residential neighborhood that's home to both students and immigrants, and located 10 miles outside of Downtown Montreal. Although it has a few tourist attractions, like St. Joseph’s Oratory, Universite de Montreal, and the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre, this area only offers a taste of what the rest of Montreal has to offer.

The neighborhood boasts a diverse dining scene, thanks to its multiethnic community. Specifically, Cotes-des-Montreal delivers some of the best Caribbean, Filipino, Kosher, and Lebanese food in the city.

Where To Stay

Foodies will probably want to stay within walking distance from Chemin de la Cote-des-Neiges, one of the neighborhood’s most popular streets, packed with an array of eateries. Metro stations dot the neighborhood, but Station Plamondon, in the southwest part of the area, has lines running directly into the downtown area. Shoppers might appeciate Chemin de le Cote-des-Neiges, which runs by Plaza Cote-des-Neiges, a decent shopping mall with various restaurants and chain stores.
